This Morning Routine Will Improve Your Mood
∆ DELTA
Delta is the fourth letter in the Greek alphabet. It translates to change, something that is inevitable in all areas of life. Change occurs even when we try our hardest to control all known factors and prepare for the unknown. The beauty of change is the evolution of new beginnings but our comfort with specific systems robs us of being able to experience change.
Due to humanistic responses to change being fear, nervousness, frustration, confusion, and even happiness, we at times become “stuck” and “frozen” in identifying how to accept and adjust to the change. So how do we move along in change? Here are a few suggestions that can facilitate healthy management of change:
· Self-Care. Be sure to attend to your physical, emotional, and mental needs. Your overall health prior to, during, and after change is critical.
· Acknowledge how change is affecting you to prevent significant impairment. Employ skills that will decrease negative outcomes.
· Reach out to others. Include others in your process for support. The idea of having others available to be present is essential.
